My flu bug was sooo bad.. it lasted for 2 weeks, i wasn't eating well and haven't had a good night sleep. I saw a GP that gave me flu meds, 1 drowsy for the night and 1 day time. It didn't work. after finishing it for 5 days, the flu didn't stop, instead i had a really bad sore throat, drank lots of honey and didn't help until someone told me, i'm supposed to eat a spoonful of honey (best to eat manuka), i did that, only twice i took in that day, and it miraculously disappeared!
BUT, it wasn't over.. the next day, i started coughing.. and then.. the next day i started having toothaches! It was so painful i woke up at 5am, and did not bother going back to sleep, went to a 24hr GP to get some meds for my cough, he gave me pain killers and something for the swell. Once it was 930am, we went searching for a dentist that is open on Sunday, Prestine SS3 website says they are open on Sunday 930am. But we waited in front and the gate was locked, i called the clinic and nobody pick up, oh did i mentioned it was raining heavily? sighs.
We went to Uptown, SS2, Old town almost the whole TOWN. and can't find any dentist that is open, and the ones that were open, does not accept walked-ins. Oh, i called a dentist in kota damansara, he asked me to come back the next Sunday, even though i said i was having a very bad toothache! His clinic is so full and famous, i had to come back NEXT SUNDAY!!
Finally we gave up, i went home eating the pain killers and the swelling meds, and finally managed to sleep.
I can tell you it was my worst toothache in my entire life!! my cheeks were swollen!
So Monday came, i went to my regular Dr Mak in SS2. And he couldn't find anything wrong with my tooth, and said its just my immune system down and the bacteria are attacking.. so he just did scaling and polishing.. RM75 ( i think the price has increased since my last visit last year) i felt better.. but i still needed pain killers and my swelling pills to control the ache.
During my 36th week check up, baby was 2.2kg, and my 37th week, baby was only 2.3kg.. so it wasn't a good sign.. mother sick, and baby not getting any proper nutrition.. Dr ravi gave me 3 day antibiotics and 3 days cough syrup. the best meds in the whole 2 weeks, managed to make me sleep like a baby, and my cough was 50% cured in the next 24 hours!
Such a long post just on my 2 weeks cough and cold.. :( but it was my most torturous in my whole 40 weeks.. well.. have not experience labour pain yet.. maybe most torturous in my whole 39 weeks.

35 weeks
35 weeks, and just caught the flu bug.. I've been very blessed so far for not falling sick.. my back is so killing me, sleeping is so uncomfortable these days, i'm having a bad headache because of all the congestion in my nose.
My doctor's visit during 34 weeks was a-okay. Baby is normal, is now 1.9kg. And yes, we still do not know the gender. My placenta is still low, my next appointment is 36 weeks, we hope that the placenta will go up, if not, Dr. Ravi said i might need to c-sect! o_O!!
Dr took some blood to check for hemoglobin and white blood cells etc.. and did a vagina swab, and said i had some bacteria! OMG! i had heavy discharge since 2 months ago, and kept on forgetting to tell him about it, until my previous appointment, and he said, it's okay we need to do a swab test on the 34th week, and i think what i have is yeast infection, but i don't have the itch or burning sensation.. So anyway, it's my first time having such infection, so when he told me, i'm gonna give you some medicine, i didn't expect him inserting something into my vagina! and yes, it wasn't a pleasant feeling!
My appointments with him are now every 2 weeks. Then i think after my 36th week check up is every week! Time is passing so fast.. and i'm so sick now, that i should be in bed resting instead of typing this blog. :P
I have not washed any of the baby's clothes, and sheets etc.. and have not pack my hospital bag!
I went for my ante natal classes the other day, and really enjoyed and learnt a lot from Jenlia, Taman Tun. Jeniffer Hor was a really good speaker.. RM250 for 2 Saturdays, only 5 couples, for 3 hours.
Compared to another one i went to.. RM129 for many many couples (40 or more) for 4 hours and a 30 minute break in between, and some 10-15 interval of another lady selling her 'training courses, soya milk machine, etc).. Won't mention her name, but it wasn't well organised, it was packed and she accepted walked ins, the chairs were not comfy, husbands had to sit on stools, the room was hot, even though the registration form says 'please don't bring your child, as it is a 4hr talk, your child will be restless etc) the couple next to me brought their child.. and couldn't keep him quiet.. they were trying to in the beginning but towards the end they were just responding to the kid and allowing him to jump on the chair and bang the walls etc.. that it was so annoying and i couldn't hear the speaker again.. BUT i kept on telling myself.. i'm gonna be a parent soon, and my kid will be like that too... continuously telling myself that.. However, luckily the speaker got annoyed herself, and asked them to bring the kid out from the room. *phew*
The list just goes on and on.. that it just made the whole talk on breastfeeding unpleasant. There was a husband sneezing so LOUDLY outside the room, and probably wasn't closing his mouth, and every time he sneezes, we couldn't hear the speaker's voice (even with a mic), After like 1 hour i guess, one pregnant lady voiced out her concerned and the speaker had to ask him to leave.

32 weeks and shortness of breath
I'm alone this week, husband is away, and for some reason, i'm not feeling as good as my previous pregnancy weeks, just the other day, i was cooking and i felt like my head was light, and as though it was swaying left and right, i was so afraid i would drop the hot pan on myself, i just left the pan and sat down, I had cold sweat, and wasn't sure what was happening. Quickly made myself a cold sweet drink. (thinking am low in sugar or something)
this passed few days, i'm having difficulty catching my breath, it's really uncomfortable, and i Googled (yes, thanks to google, again) and all pregnant woman says it's normal, because the baby is growing and taking up more space, and needing more oxygen too.
And it usually happens after a meal, so i need to remember, no more 'normal' size meals, i need to only snack. and also, to sit up straight so my lungs and take in more oxygen..
Last night when the baby was moving so so so much, like drums beating away, swirled, kicked.. etc.. again, it made me feel sick and couldn't breathe, immediately i just head for the bed and lie down.
It's true, 3rd trimester is not easy. 1st trimester was traumatizing because of all the spotting, and not knowing what to expect, 2nd was the easiest, (that's when the doctor told me to enjoy my pregnancy), 3rd i'm feeling tired easily, don't feel like doing anything, shortness of breath, the occasionally feeling sick in the car, always feeling HOT HOT HOT, and SWEAT SWEAT SWEAT.. and not knowing the exact arrival date of the baby!
I thought i was emotionally strong and can be alone this week, but i truly miss my husband. I can't wait for him to be next to me again. :~(

21st June 2012 - 32 weeks and a doctor's visit
We always look forward for doctor's visit. We go for a meal together, then wait for our turn to see the doctor, and Dr. Ravi never fails to greet us (or any of his patient, i believe) with a BIG SMILE, and a loud and sincere HELLO- HOW ARE YOU?
I noticed baby always moved alot on the way to the hospital, and once i'm there, baby will stop moving.. and this round, he or she was looking down, and shy away from all of us, not showing the face at all.. so we only managed to scan the head and the heart.. which of course is the most important.
So Dr. Ravi didn't print any scans for us today.. which i was also looking forward for it..
My sugar and protein level is normal. (phew). my weight today is 57.9kg. and baby's estimated weight is 1.6kg.
People always say.. for 7 months pregnant, your tummy is SMALL.. so i asked the Dr. and he checked with all the scans and results, and plot it in the baby's growth chart.. and said.. There's nothing to worry about.. baby growing perfectly fine.. :)
From today onwards, my doctor's visit is no longer once a month, it's every 2 weeks, so my next appointment is on the 4th of July! and again, for the first time, my husband won't be able to join me for the doctor's visit. Dr. Ravi said, he is going to do some swab and a blood test for my 34 weeks check up.

29 weeks and kicking hard!
In April I was 53kg and baby weighs 600g. In may I was 56kg and baby weighs 1.2kg!!
It's doubling up very quickly.. and time flies.. (edd) 11 more weeks to go! I'm now entering my 3rd trimester and everything is changing.. i'm growing bigger, i am not as flexible as before, i squat and can't get up easily, i sit on the floor and sometimes need assistance to get up, i can't walk as long as before, my pelvic area hurts (more like the joints in between my legs) doctor says it's normal, as our bones are preparing for labour, and not many woman feel as much pain as i do. So everybody is different in this 9 months journey..

23 weeks and baby is actively kicking!
The very first time I felt baby kick was only at night, when I'm lying down watching tv.. All relax and getting ready for bed.
Now! It's totally different the baby is so active I felt the kick almost every 2 hours! And it usually happens when I'm eating.. Not sure if the baby is trying to say.. I like or dislike the food!
Just few days ago, the baby kicked so hard it made me scream and woke me up! It felt as though the kid was pinching me from inside!
Now am so wondering after I've delivered this active baby, will he or she remain active? Am I taking too much sweet stuffs?
Anyhow I've cut down on my sweet stuffs and taking more plain water. :)
My appointment with my baby is this Thursday ! Can't wait to see you!

We felt our baby at 18 weeks!
I expected to feel my baby at 20 weeks but at 18 weeks I felt some bubbles moving in my tummy...
Then next day I started giggling for no apparent reason, like something is tickling me from the inside... So that's when I googled can I feel my baby in 18 weeks? Yes!! As early as 18 weeks mothers to be start feeling their baby kick..
So I started to concentrate.. Usually I realized or felt it during night time when I'm relax and in bed...
Now it's more like someone knocking from the inside!! Asked hubby to just leave his hand on my tummy in case baby knocks again.. AND, hubs felt the knock knock!!! :))

Leap Day - Emergency Check up- 15th weeks pregnant
My next appointment was supposed to be on the 8th of March 2012, however on the 28th February, i had 3-4 major pains in my stomach, right above my belly button, something I've never felt before. It was so pain, i couldn't continue walking, even though i really needed to pee, the pain was as though someone just gave me a really good hard punch in my stomach, and i was in great pain that i was crunching, after the pain has subside i walked few steps, and it happened again, this repeated for 3-4 times!
Honestly, i was freaking out, i'm only 15 weeks pregnant, and this can't be the baby KICKING! i rest and sat down and started calling experienced friends, to ask if they felt anything like this before, and both of them said no, it's not common, and they only felt this during their MISCARRIAGE! i started googling, and of course i tried calling Dr. Ravi's clinic but it was after 5.30pm, and no one was picking up.. the whole night i felt discomfort and i couldn't stand for long..
Next morning, i called the clinic, and ask if i should be alarm, told them i'm not bleeding and my next appointment is the following week, the ladies said, Just come in, for assurance, i didn't speak to the Dr. but she said, Dr, will tell you the same thing, to just come in, because they can't see if i'm alright through the phone anyway, SO.. Another rushed to the hospital..
Luckily, there wasn't a long queue.. probably 1 patient before us..
Dr said checked my BP, and checked my baby, everything was A-O-KAY! PHEW! heart beat, beating at a good rate, bones all building, fingers all there, and all 3 bones on each fingers are there.. (if it's 2 bones on a finger shows symptoms of downs) Brains developing, and he said there's so many things to why my stomach was so pain, but he can't explain why.. his advice is.. just rest and don't walk when it happens.. basically i think the general rule here is, as long as you are not bleeding, everything should be fine.
So that's how we spend our Leap day, seeing our baby, again. :)
Our next appointment is 28th March, it's our 20 weeks check up, it's going to take 45mins - 1 hour check for anomaly check. (and i found out not all my friends had this check up, due to Dr's machine) weird.

On V'day's check up - 13 weeks pregnant
I was still spotting.. so Dr. Ravi said i shouldn't be spotting anymore, i probably have a polyps (which i removed my first polyp in 2011), true enough.. i had one maybe 1cm polyp.. he removed it and sent it for check, although he said it's 99.9% nothing to be worried about.. it's just hospital's policy to send it in..
He mentioned that i'm going to see blood for few days, and it should stop in 3-4 days time.. and true enough, it was crystal clear again! :)
Overall, everything is going on smoothly and on track.. we did our down syndrome checked today.. the neck was less than 2.5cm or was it 0.25cm.. anyway, it was within the normal range.. SO i felt so relieved, as we have someone related has down syndrome.. he checked the nose.. and it was also okay..
Dr. took some blood of from me, to further confirm i'm clear from 3 of the syndromes.. downs, edwards, pataus..
He still continued me on Duphaston, however today i start on my calcium pills, and multi-vits. :) yay! i'm officially going into my 2nd trimester!
Today we went home with a big smile, and a CD compilation of today's ultrasound scans, and short mini video clip of our lil' baby.. It was an AWESOME V'day!

11 weeks pregnant
Malaysian Chinese, has SO MANY taboos... sometimes it can be so irritating.. NO this NO that.. well.. at least, i can confirm that herbal food is bad.. after taking it.. i had spotting again.. not sure if it's because of the herbs that causes the blood to circulate etc.. But anyhow, just stay away from it..
But.. as for the cooling stuffs.. I don't know what's the logic behind it.. so far.. i had one barley drink today, 1 coconut drink on CNY day.. and several times KANGKUNG (vegetable)
at 8 weeks i've stopped spotting.. i see blood every now and then that i thought.. i'm ready.. i've build courage and strength to HOPE for the BEST, and EXPECT the WORST!
At 9 weeks, i spotted again.. not as much as before, but i did see a few drops of blood.. must be the herbal soup i had..
At 10 weeks, i was fine.. crystal clear except for some discharge.. i've never had a white pee since i was pregnant.. i wonder why.. kept on forgetting to ask the doctor this..
At 11 weeks.. I spotted again.. and.. it's a few days of red blood... urgh... no cramps.. but i'm just so upset.. when we scanned again the other day... Dr. Ravi did show me where the black spot is.. and tell me it's gonna bleed.. so i'm just hoping this is THE LAST black spot.
I'm still on Duphaston..
But at my 11 weeks and 2 days scanned.. I saw my little embryo has grown into a fetus.. with 2 hands and 2 legs, and a visible head.. he or she was waving.. or at least so i think it is.. i need to give my fetus a nickname.. i can't be calling 'IT'... my...... lil dragon was waving.. it made us SMILE the whole day.. and i was SO SO ECSTATIC!! i wanted to tell the whole world lil dragon waved today... OH back to taboos, i can't tell people i'm pregnant! i've not passed my 1st trimester.. i think in 3 weeks time.. on Valentines day i can announce :)
